What are the responsibilities and job description for the Support Teacher position at Building Blocks Learning Center?
Building Blocks Early Learning Center seeks a Support Teacher to join our team in Monroe. We prioritize employee experience and are closed the week between Christmas and New Year. This offers you a guaranteed week of paid time off upon hire.
Our school director in Monroe carries more than 12 years of leadership experience. Whether you have recently earned your Early Childhood Certification, you’re a field veteran or looking to evolve your classroom experience, Katie is a dedicated and knowledgeable mentor. She is known for investing her time, resources, and energy in advancing her staff.
This position is for 25-30 hours per week.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must be at least 18 years’ of age
Obtained a high school diploma or equivalent
Completed minimum of 540 hours of documented work experience with unrelated children of the same age(s) to be served in the child care center
Working towards or meets NAEYC and or OEC requirements.
Open to exploring and completing requirements to further education in early childhood education.
Actively exhibit a passion for early education and an enthusiasm for learning
Demonstrate kindness and respect for self, others, and our community at large
Subscribe to play-based learning approach and importance of social-emotional learning
Deliver required paperwork and lesson plans on time and to completion
Display excellent written and verbal communication skills
REQUIREMENTS
Adhere to all Connecticut Public Health and Child Care Regulations
Authorize state-required background check
Act as mandated reporter both on and off-campus
Collaborate with staff to help ensure classroom environments that adhere to NAEYC’s Anti-Bias Early Education
Be capable of standing, moving, running, and playing for the majority of the day
Be capable of easily lifting up to 30 pounds multiple times a day
Complete mandatory state safety training and maintain the required annual training hours as required by the state of Connecticut
