What are the responsibilities and job description for the Local Delivery Driver position at Building Material Distributors, Inc.?
What you’ll do:
As part of the Delivery Team, you will deliver windows and doors and accessories to customers (i.e., residential homes, commercial properties, and industrial projects) in the greater Dallas, TX market in a damage free and safe manner; safely operates a 26’ straight truck; unload and place products using straps for a safe delivery; and act as the customer service liaison in the field by representing TDT in a professional and courteous manner. This full-time work schedule is typically Mon - Fri, 5:30 am - 2:00 pm.
Qualifications:
- Have a valid class D TX driver's license and a safe driving record
- Be at least 21 yrs old
- Pass a DOT physical and non-DOT drug test
- Perform heavy physical demands, lifting 50lbs. frequently
- Have demonstrated positive and professional customer facing experience
- Have a High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1 year experience safely operating a 26’ straight truck (preferred)
- 6 months experience working in a warehouse or similar type of industry safely moving and lifting heavy products using dollies and/or straps (preferred)
- Experience reading bills of lading and other delivery paperwork (preferred)
