Event Security Officer

Job OverviewWe seek dedicated and vigilant security officers to join our event security team to work at county fairs, concerts, festivals, and more over the summer. The ideal candidates will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for our clients and the public. This position requires a proactive approach to security, excellent observational skills, and the ability to respond effectively to various situations. As a Security Officer, you will monitor premises, manage conflicts, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

This position is very flexible. Schedules are posted, and employees select what shifts work for them. The supervisor approves them to comply with client requirements. Most Schedules are Evenings and weekends. Officers are expected to be able to work until the end of events, but this can vary based on performance and crowds.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and patrol assigned areas to ensure safety and security.
• Respond promptly to alarms, incidents, or emergencies, taking appropriate action.
• Manage conflicts effectively using conflict management techniques.
• Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify security risks or breaches.
• Assist in loss prevention efforts by monitoring for suspicious behavior.
• Maintain accurate logs of daily activities, incidents, and observations.
• Provide first aid and CPR assistance as necessary during emergencies.
• Collaborate with law enforcement agencies when required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in security or law enforcement is preferred but not required.
• Certification in CPR and First Aid is highly desirable.
• Strong conflict management skills with the ability to de-escalate tense situations.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Must be physically fit and able to stand or walk for extended periods in the summer heat.
• Must be able to work flexible hours as end time will vary based on events.

Pay: From $15.50 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 70 per week
