Wine and Spirits Chain Sales

POSITION OBJECTIVE: Responsible for the order entry of sales orders of assigned accounts in a designated area. Assist the Wine Sales Team to maximize sales volume, distribution, merchandising visibility and market share of wine and spirits products in customer accounts. Manage and visit chain accounts in South/Southwest/West Chicago Suburbs.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Call on assigned accounts as scheduled. Monitor key accounts for inventory levels on a regular basis.

Enter sales orders accurately in order to ensure a timely delivery of products to customers.

Assist with the introduction and continued distribution of company product brands.

Increase product exposure at current accounts.

Execute, and attend special events or tastings of products.

Maintain good customer relations and forward complaint calls to appropriate staff member promptly.

Assist in securing the best possible position for our products in every account

Inform customers of price promotions and new products when available.

Ensure the product is properly rotated and stocked in all retail areas and properly faced on the shelf at all customer locations.

Keep management informed of competitive activities including pricing, marketing, and supplier issues in the market.

Complete all required paperwork in a timely manner.

Maintain a proper stock level of current POS for immediate retail merchandising.

Maintain a clean, organized, safe and secure work area.

Attend all scheduled meetings and conduct oneself in a professional manner that is supportive of management.

Know and obey all laws governing the alcohol industry.

Assist sales force as needed and other positions as assigned or requested by management.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.

Associates Degree or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

One year sales or merchandising experience in beverage industry preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Must be able to safely lift and handle up to 55- pound case of product frequently.

Must be able to climb a ladder and work while on a ladder.

Must be at least 21 years of age.

Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.

Must be dependable and trustworthy with the ability to work independently, with limited supervision.

Good organizational and time management kills.

Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.

Must be a team player and demonstrate positive work behaviors and attitude.

Must be professional in interactions with customers and staff.

Professional appearance and demeanor.

Basic computer proficiency.

Bilingual, Spanish fluency a plus.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

This position requires a self-motivated, high energy individual who is able to work quickly, accurately and effectively with a sense of urgency about getting work done in a safe manner while maintaining a high level of quality service This position involves work requiring sitting, driving, stooping, bending, kneeling, pivot twisting, lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling and balancing. Must use own vehicle to make customer visits on a daily basis. Individual may be required to work evenings and/or weekends as the schedule requires. Typical work hours start as early as 7:00am though could be earlier or later based on customer need.
