Description
Burlingame Aquatic Club (BAC) is recruiting for a part-time Head Masters Swimming Coach whowill manage the operations of BAC’s Masters swimming programs. The Head Coach will be responsible for on-deck coaching of the majority of practices, managing part-time assistant coaches, training program creation and implementation, competition schedule, customer service, event coordination, and the general administrative needs of the team. The Head Coach will be knowledgeable and up to date on current swim technique and training methodologies, and be an expert communicator and team-player. The Head Coach will ensure a safe training environment while focusing on the success of both individuals and the overall team. The Head Coach will also be expected to spend significant time planning and marketing for club growth.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal Head Coach will:
- Have 5 years of swim coaching experience.
- Possess leadership skills to train and lead a small team of part time coaches. Plan,
organize, assign, schedule, supervise, and review the work of assigned staff to deliver
high-quality coaching; ensure assigned staff are properly trained in program operations;
motivate assigned staff to perform at high levels; set performance goals and
measurements with the help of the Executive Director.
- Be able to communicate swiftly and effectively. Maintain excellent communication with
program participants; receive and respond to complaints and inquiries; explain and
enforce policies and procedures; promote awareness to prospective participants;
celebrate success internally and with the community.
- Possess great organizational skills and teamwork ability. Build excellent working
relationships with coworkers and patrons. Manage time and workload in a fast-paced
environment; meet multiple deadlines; achieve performance goals and results through
the work of others; contribute to and implement team-oriented projects and tasks.
- Manage Masters swim team’s administrative needs, plan and implement social media
posts, develop reports, assemble materials, compose documents, retrieve and research
information, update patron information, and compile statistics.
- Be able to Open/Close the BAC facilities when needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience
Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills
and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:
- 5 years of swim coaching experience.
- Competitive swimming experience at the club/collegiate/professional level.
Licenses and Certifications
- Possession of a valid California driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record.
- Possessions of US Masters Swimming coach certification.
- Possession of a valid Red Cross Lifeguard certification, or completion of certification
within 90 days of hire.
Compensation
The hourly base pay range for this role is expected to be between $40-$50. Actual base pay
could vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, subject matter expertise,
geographic location where work will be performed and the applicant's skill set.
