SUMMARY
Provide all services required to complete foster/adoptive home studies and home maintenance.
EDUCATION
- Must be at least 21 years old and possession of a Bachelors degree in Social Work or related human service field (education, psychology, sociology).
- A minimum of three years post-graduate social work experience and social work license is preferred.

- Must have a valid state issued drivers license and submit to an intensive background investigation.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties and responsibilities of the Treatment Associate of Burlington United Methodist Family Services shall encompass at least the following:
- Can support the mission and vision of Burlington United Methodist Family Services as evidenced by compliance with all organizational policies and procedures.
- Supports and facilitates positive interaction with others as evidenced by: professional maturity, respect for others, a team-centered approach, maintenance of confidential information, and an appreciation of a multicultural workplace.
- Exhibits effective communication skills including proper use of agency communication systems.
- Supports all functions that attain and maintain accreditation with regulatory agencies.
- Participates in appropriate professional development programs and in services to attain and maintain competency.
- Required to open five new homes per year.
- Complete Health and Safety reviews on an annual basis.
- Respond to emergencies in the foster home when needed or requested by my supervisor.
- Complete initial inquiries for prospective foster/adoptive families.
- Complete corrective action plans when required by licensing or for safety issues.
- Complete paperwork within deadlines assigned by my supervisor.
- Complete follow up at each stage of the home study process, which will include face to face contact, phone calls and letters.
- Document contact with foster families in Extended Reach (formerly KaleidaCare).
- Send information packets and all application forms to prospective families.
- Arrange and participate in annual training for foster families.
- Complete all family assessments based on specific time guidelines.
- Submit complete home study narrative and annual certificate for review by the assigned supervisor, and place in the family file.
- Participate in foster family recruitment activities on a weekly basis.
- Participate in a community event at least once per month. Examples of this are having an open house, participating on panels, or having a booth at a health fair.
- Organize Pressley Ridge Therapeutic Foster Care training classes and complete Pressley Ridge Therapeutic Foster Care training curriculum with foster families.
- Complete annual reviews of foster/adoptive home and monitor for changes in family circumstance.
- Attend monthly supervision meetings or as needed to address issues as they arise.
- Complete all necessary documentation in FACTS.
- Meet with families on an individual basis for retraining, or to resolve problems or concerns in the home.
- Attend MDT, and TX plan meetings as needed or when requested by foster care staff or director of community-based services.
- Complete all data tracking forms on the last working day of the month and submit to the appropriate parties.
- Required driving position
- This position is defined as one that will require you to drive a motor vehicle as part of your daily work. This position does allow the employee to drive motor vehicles owned or leased by Burlington United Methodist Services, Inc., and to transport employees and residents when and if necessary.
- Performs other duties that fall within the parameters of this position.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee will be required to lift, stand, sit, and/or walk for extended periods of time. Repetitive use of hands, wrists, and elbows will be required. The employee will be required to possess the strength and ability to demonstrate techniques taught in various required training.
This position will work in an office environment, although sometimes this position must work in extreme weather conditions and potentially hazardous situations due to working in a residential environment.
