What are the responsibilities and job description for the Target Program Teacher position at Burr and Burton Academy?
The Target Program was established in 1998 as BBA’s alternative education program for students who need a small and highly personalized learning environment. Located in a satellite location on Richville Road in Manchester, the program’s mission is to meet the unique social, emotional, and academic needs of each student. Small class sizes allow faculty the opportunity to provide individualized instruction through core course offerings as well as a wide variety of electives that foster students' curiosity and help prepare them for life after high school.
Target faculty members are collaborators who build caring relationships with students, deliver an engaging program, and create a positive learning community in line with BBA’s mission and core values. Ideal candidates have experience providing small-group and individualized instruction, communicating and partnering with families, and employing trauma-informed pedagogy and Universal Design for Learning (UDL). The position begins in August of 2024.
Applicants should submit a personal statement, resume and three references (preferably in a single pdf document) to Robin Urbanski, Assistant to the Headmaster, at rurbanski@burrburton.org. The posting will be removed from the school's website once the position is filled.
