Burt Brothers Tire & Service is seeking a hands-on AP/AR Supervisor with a strong background in Accounts Payable to join our growing accounting team. This is a working supervisor role—ideal for someone who thrives in the details of AP while also leading and optimizing day-to-day accounting operations.
You will lead a small team and take ownership of the full-cycle AP process, including vendor management, invoice approvals, and payment processing. This role also includes oversight of AR functions, with a focus on supporting collections and account reconciliation. You’ll partner with store locations and work closely with the Controller to improve systems and ensure strong financial controls across our multi-location retail and commercial service business.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the full-cycle Accounts Payable process, including invoice coding, approvals, payment processing, and vendor account reconciliation.
Review, validate, and approve invoices, check runs, and vendor statements.
Serve as the primary escalation point for AP-related issues from store teams and vendors.
Oversee AR activities including customer invoicing, unapplied cash follow-up, and aging review.
Monitor and manage AP and AR aging reports, ensuring timely resolution of outstanding items.
Supervise daily workload and performance of AP/AR team members, providing guidance and development.
Partner with the Controller to document AP workflows and implement process improvements and internal controls.
Support month-end and year-end close activities related to AP and AR.
Maintain vendor relationships and ensure compliance with payment terms and company policy.
Requirements
3 years of hands-on experience in Accounts Payable; AR experience a plus.
At least 1 year of supervisory or team lead experience preferred.
Deep understanding of AP processes, internal controls, and accounting principles.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems; experience with Great Plains or similar ERP is a plus.
Strong attention to detail, follow-through, and organizational skills in a fast-paced environment.
Confident communicator and problem-solver; able to collaborate across departments and resolve vendor/store issues effectively.
Experience in a retail or multi-location environment is preferred.
Salary : $65,000 - $75,000
