Busek is seeking a Subcontracts Manager to oversee subcontract management activities across our aerospace programs. The successful candidate will be a key liaison between Busek and its subcontractors, ensuring contract requirements, technical milestones, and program goals are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary point of contact between Busek and subcontractors
- Develop subcontract specifications, statements of work (SOWs), terms and conditions, and negotiate requirements and scope
- Initiate and manage subcontracts throughout the full lifecycle, from the bidding phase through contract completion
- Collect and manage Requests for Proposal (RFPs) for Busek programs
- Track and report progress on subcontractor milestones, consulting regularly with program management, operations, engineering, and senior leadership
- Identify, assess, and mitigate risks across all subcontract activities; communicate impacts to cost and schedule with program management
- Ensure subcontractor deliverables meet Busek's technical, schedule, and cost requirements
- Support supplier evaluations and participate in make/buy decisions
- Maintain compliance with applicable FAR/DFARS, ITAR, and other regulatory requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; technical background preferred
- Minimum 5 years of subcontract management or supply chain experience in aerospace, defense, or manufacturing environments
- Demonstrated experience negotiating technical subcontracts and managing supplier performance
- Strong understanding of contract terms, flowdowns, and compliance requirements
- Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and statements of work
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience supporting government contracts and working with FAR/DFARS requirements
- Background in engineering or technical program management
- Experience working in a small to mid-sized manufacturing company environment
