TITLE: District Purchasing
EMPLOYMENT TERMS: Twelve (12) Months
SALARY CLASSIFICATION: Classified Salary Non-Exempt
GENERAL STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:
At Red Mesa Unified School District, the District Purchasing is responsible in overseeing and demonstrate a positive, professional, and understanding relationship with parents, students, and district staff; maintain a positive and productive attitude within the workplace; uphold personal conduct outside of the workplace; maintain a high-level of confidentiality; assure correctness of job duties as described within; willingness to collaborate to provide optimal efficiency and effectiveness for the operations of the District; adhere to and enforce policies and procedures set forth by the District.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Establish/maintain District’s procurement workflow for all departments district-wide;
- Review all Purchase Requisitions for compliance and accuracy in accord with USFR (Uniform Systems of Financial Records), AAC (Arizona Administrative Code), and District Policies before processing into a Purchase Order;
- Enforce procurement requirements and compliancy in accord with USFR, AAC, and District policies, with regards to best practice;
- Locates suitable and reputable sources/vendors that are advantageous to the District and maintain all purchasing accounts;
- Prepares and issues Requests For Proposals (RFP) and Invitation For Bids (IFB) as needed and deemed advantageous to the District for purchased services/materials;
- Maintains all District procurement contracts, agreements, and consortium membership(s);
- Reviews financial documents related to procurement for propriety and compliance with USFR, AAC, and District policies;
- Assists with development and implementation processes/procedures for disposal of District surplus property with regards to GFA requirements and reporting;
- Assist with duties and responsibilities as needed in Accounts Payable, Receiving, Student Activities, Auxiliary, and occasionally Payroll;
- Provides procurement support/assistance for all District departments throughout as needed;
- Provides exceptional customer service to the public and District staff;
- Performs other tasks/duties and assumes additional responsibilities as assigned by the Business Office supervisor, Superintendent, school principals, or the Governing Board.
QUALIFICATION: AA/AS Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or Management, or other related field preferred.
EXPERIENCE: At least one (1) year experience with public school procurement/buying in Arizona and experience with accessing and navigating ADE Connect and understanding reports within;
Experience with the following software is preferred: Tyler Tech Infinite Visions (Enterprise) and/or I-Visions, , QuickBooks, Microsoft Office, and Google G-Suite for Education; Have experience working in a multicultural/rural; Navajo or Native American Preferred.
LICENSE: Valid Driver's License
