Position Title
Director, Resource Development
Job Duties
The Director of Resource Development is responsible directly to the Associate Vice President of Research & Institutional Effectiveness (AVP IR/IE) for identifying and pursuing external funding opportunities that align with the college’s strategic plan, for managing grants in current operation as assigned by the AVP IR/IE, and for extracting, analyzing, and presenting data from the college’s enterprise resource portal (ERP) that is relevant for the management of current or future external funding opportunities.

Required knowledge and skills
A. Strong research and analysis skills.
B. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
C. Expertise in Excel or similar spreadsheet program.
D. Project Management skills.
E. Computer literacy.
F. Excellent writing skills.
G. Growth mindset.
H. Experience in management information systems (MIS) or enterprise resource portals (ERP), especially in an higher education, public service, or non-profit environment
Required experience
A. At least three years administrative experience including personnel and budget management, preferably in higher education, public service, or non-profit environment
B. Formal training or demonstrated experience in project management
C. Experience in development and/or management of grants from state, federal, non-profit or other philanthropic sources
D. Experience in data extraction and analysis from enterprise level information systems or resource portals
F. Experience working as a member of a mission-oriented team
Required educational background
Master’s degree from an accredited institution. On a case by case basis, some educational requirements may be substituted by demonstrated direct grant development/management experience or credentialing in the grant management process or a combination of such experience and credentialing.
