What are the responsibilities and job description for the PATIENT CARE TECHNICIAN PACU position at Butler Memorial Hospital?

Job Summary:

Provides nursing assistance/clerical support to the nursing staff of the Post Anesthesia Care Unit by performing duties assigned by the Director or designee. Duties assigned are related primarily to specific nursing care functions, which do not require professional education or licensure, assisting in maintaining safe and efficient unit operations, providing support for patient care, maintain patient records, written and computer transcription as well as excellent customer service and communication skills.


Education

Minimum:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred:

Current enrollment or completion of a nursing assistant training program or graduate of a Medical Secretary Program


Registration/Certification/Licensure:

Healthcare Provider CPR and Act 33/73 clearances


Experience

Minimum:

Six months experience as a Nurse Aide or Unit Secretary or other related healthcare experience.

Other Requirements:

Responsible to safely access, transport, and handle single dose medications to include prescription and non-prescription medications. Responsible to safely access, transport, and handle sharps, such as needles, suture kits, lancets, syringes, etc.
