What are the responsibilities and job description for the Early Childhood Opener (AM) 5:30 am - 9:00 am position at Butterfly Academy?
The Early Childhood Opener supports the Teachers and the Director by helping to create a caring and safe environment for the children and assisting in daily routines to improve the overall care and quality of education. S/he must be able to communicate, listen and work well with others in a team environment. Assisting the staff in implementing a quality educational program and in developing positive relationships with the children and their parents, the Early Childhood Opener observes and documents children's interest and progress, and relays that information back to parents and staff when needed. Position hours: 5:30 am - 9:00 am
Duties
Prepare the classroom for the day, ensuring it is clean and organized
- Set up materials and supplies for daily activities
- Greet and welcome children and their parents/guardians
- Assist with morning routines such as breakfast and getting children settled in
- Engage children in age-appropriate activities and play
- Supervise children to ensure their safety at all times
- Foster a positive and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow
- Collaborate with Director or Executive to plan and implement daily schedules
Requirements
- Minimum of 1-2 years of professional childcare experience.
- High energy.
- Ability to work well with others.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
- An understanding of child development.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
- Must clear full background check
- Able to lift 30 lbs
- Schedule flexibility
- Partime or full-time availability
- Experience with children infants to kindergarten
