Position Summary

The Yard Spotter plays an essential role in our logistics network by safely and efficiently moving trailers and containers throughout the yard. You will support daily operations by positioning equipment for loading and unloading, maintaining yard organization, and ensuring workflows run smoothly and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely maneuver trailers and containers around the yard using yard tractors or forklifts.
• Properly position trailers at docks for loading and unloading.
• Communicate clearly with drivers using radios or hand signals to guide vehicles into position.
• Conduct pre‑trip inspections of equipment and report any maintenance concerns.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard‑free yard environment.
• Assist with loading and unloading as needed.
• Accurately record trailer movements and yard locations.
• Follow all safety protocols, regulations, and company procedures.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
• Minimum 3 years of Class A driving or relevant experience.
• Experience with Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs).
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow schedules and timelines.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills and a positive, professional attitude.
• Clean MVR, background check, and valid Medical Card.
• Must be registered with the FMCSA Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse.

PPE Requirements

• Steel‑toe or composite‑toe boots required
• Safety vest and additional PPE provided by Red Baron Transportation

Compensation & Benefits

• Hourly Rate: $21.00 per hour
• Benefits (after 90 days): Medical, dental, vision, and ancillary coverage

• Hours: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Onsite – Darlington, SC
