Established structural steel fabrication shop in Hutto, TX (northeast of Austin, TX) has an opening for a STRUCTURAL STEEL DETAILER. This position is in a fast-paced environment.
BWT’s Welding is a small company where a few employees perform multiple job duties. Your willingness to cross train is a job requirement and will ensure your success with our organization.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
· Operate complex 3D modeling in Tekla Structures or other design software
· Proficient at reading architectural and structural plans and finding errors on same
· Accurately interprets construction documents
· Understands and utilizes standard practices of the steel industry i.e., AISC
· Produce structural details that are easy to read, well-drawn, well organized, and informative
· Maintain consistency in production of structural details
· Maintain specifications/drawings/machine files (ensure SHOP has latest version ASAP)
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Attention to detail and is well organized with time management and multitasking
· Communicates effectively and professionally with team members and clients
· Documents and follows consistent procedures when transmitting information or drawings
· Maintain project files on server
· Willingness and desire to ensure projects are successful from detailing, fabrication and to field
· Willingness and desire to push skills and abilities to increase production of in-house fab drawings
· Works in a fast pasted environment and accepts the challenges inherent in changing priorities
Wage will depend on experience and skill but typically $40K - $60K
Must be able to attend work on a regular and consistent basis. Paid health, vision, dental, life and holiday pay after 90 days. Vacation awarded after one year of employment.
