Production Line Worker

Bobs Boys Bagels (BBB) is a division of Bylada Foods, a manufacturing company specializing in bagels. Our operations are located in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Job Description

Production line workers, work in different positions to ensure that all the daily production goals are met. They work directly with the Production Supervisors to complete the daily tasks. Our machine will put the bagels on the trays, the line workers will make sure they are assembled correctly on the trays. Trays are then placed in the racks and moved into the Proofers and then into the Ovens. Once baked, Line workers also move the bagels from the racks onto a cooling conveyor. Once cooled, bagels are packed into tote boxes and placed onto pallets.

Basic Functions/Job Responsibilities:

· Load conveyor manually with empty trays (each tray weights approximately 7lb)

· Organize bagels correctly on top the trays ensuring it contains the right number of bagels

· Load trays full of bagels into the rack/cart (each tray with bagels weight around 9lbs)

· Transport rack to proofer (push up to a 500lb rack with wheels)

· Unload bagels from racks and trays

· Pack bagels into plastic liner and boxes

· Palletize the boxes accordingly with specification

· Wrap up the pallet with shrink wrap and include a pallet tag identifying the product

· Makes sure that workstation is clean and free of hazardous materials

· Clean and sanitize equipment at end of shift

· Clean the factory floor

· Adheres to all safety guidelines

· Report issues or problems with production line or product to immediate supervisor

· Observes and remove any foreign material from assembly line and reports it directly to QA and production supervisor

· Assist Production Supervisor on any other task requested

Requirements

· Heavy lifting (up to 50lb)

· Push and pull racks (up to 500lb with wheels)

· Exposure to extreme temperatures during summertime (Facility temperature can vary from 80°F to around 105°F

· Exposure to extreme temperatures during loading and unloading ovens (440°F)

· Prolonged standing (8 hours)

· Must work well with others, as a team

Desired Skills

· Problem solving skills and organization skills

· Food Safety and Quality Awareness

· Bilingual in Spanish a strong plus

Experience

· 1-year previous experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment is preferred. Experience in Bakery environment a plus.'
