What are the responsibilities and job description for the Registered Nurse - Preop/Recovery position at Byrd Regional Hospital?
The Preop/Recovery RN assesses, plans, implements and evaluates the nursing care plan of patients within the surgical services department. Performs a focused assessment of the patient and monitors procedures in the operating room during surgery. Maintains sterility, safety and organization of the surgeon and the patient to ensure the best outcome. Ensures nursing services are delivered to each patient in accordance with quality standards, medical plan of care and policies.
Must have a wide range of skills to accommodate a variety of surgery specialties. Must meet the patient’s needs through collaboration with the healthcare team. Surgical Services Director may assign to serve as RN Preceptor for the unit.
