We are currently looking to add a valued member to our Universal Banker team within our retail space. As a Universal Banker I, the primary objective of this role is to deliver an outstanding C&F Customer Experience to bank customers by responding to expressed needs, including all branch transaction functions and transitioning these visits into relationship building opportunities that grow earning assets. The Universal Banker is responsible for proactively contacting current customers to schedule relationship reviews/deepen the relationship. The Universal Banker I is also accountable for acquiring new customer relationships, primarily by referrals from customers and lead sources. This position is also expected to attend occasional networking events and business development activities.

Responsibilities

 

Growth and Business Development (55%)

  • Role models all aspects of the C&F Customer Experience, to include the C&F Service Experience, and C&F Active Site Leadership
  • Rotates between all areas of the retail center including transaction processing, sales, advising customers and marketing programs/events.
  • Performs outbound activity to existing customers (calls, notes, and occasional business customer visits) to assess customer experience performance, probe and anticipate needs, conduct C&F Relationship Reviews (via phone/in-person)
  • Ensures full knowledge of all digital banking services through personal utilization of these services in order to effectively communicate all features and benefits to both customers and prospects
  • Educates customers and prospects on digital banking services options and enrolls as appropriate
  • Acquires new consumer customer relationships by leveraging internal and external lead sources

Manages Risk (20%)

  • Complies with all BSA/CIP requirements with all new account and existing customer interactions
  • Submits all customer documentation accurately and in a timely manner
  • Resolves all outstanding file maintenance cases within specified guidelines
  • Takes ownership of other operational risk management tasks as delegated
  • Adheres to the Bank’s information security policies and manages Bank information appropriately; protects customer information with high sense of accuracy and urgency

Teamwork and Influence (20%)

  • Provides fill-in staffing to other market branches as needed
  • Participates in, and occasionally leads, components of daily morning huddle/weekly team meetings
  • Leads C&F Active Site Leadership when not with a customer
  • Builds collaborative, results-oriented relationships with prioritized key internal partners: Branch and Market teammates, Customer Service, Electronic Solutions, Operations staff, C&F Mortgage and C&F Wealth Management representatives, and Commercial/Business Relationship Managers

Special Projects/Other (5%)

  • Assists with other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Knowledge:

1 years of cash handling experience preferred. 1-2 years sales experience preferred. Work-related experience should consist of cash handling and/or customer service background.

 

Skills: Strong interpersonal, organizational, time management, communication skills, and computer are required.

 

Abilities: Ability to generate demand through prospecting and setting meetings. Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels and from all walks of life. Proven ability to deepen and enhance customerrelationships.

 

Education: High School diploma or GED is required; Associate’s degree is preferred; a combination of experience and education will be considered.

 

Travel: 

10% 

Physical demands: Employee may experience the following physical demands for extended periods of time: view computer monitors, keyboarding, sitting, motion of fingers/hands/wrists, and standing/walking; occasional lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling up to 20 pounds.

Work Environment: Work is performed in a retail branch environment.
