Job Description
Under the direction of the Chief Information Officer, the Information Systems Security Officer provides consulting, security and regulatory compliance program oversight, and analysis related to the areas of computer, information, and network security. This role provides ongoing management of information security policies, procedures, standards, and related programs in support of the organization’s Information Systems Security Program including:
Leads on-going security audit activities including the tracking and documentation of remediation plans to address identified vulnerabilities.
Leads organizational program efforts in the areas of Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery.
Works with the IS Technical and Application teams in order to maintain the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of all organizational health care information systems.
Partners with other organizational compliance and privacy leadership to align goals and privacy and security compliance and investigative efforts
Job Requirements
The Information Systems Security Officer must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Care, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience and five years of experience in managing IS security in a healthcare setting. The Information Systems Security Officer must have a working knowledge of how to project manage, design, build, and maintain security aspects of an organizational security program. The employee must demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills. After the first year of employment, an advanced certification such as the CISSP is required.
