CABOT CITRUS FARMS

Located in the central-west region of Florida, aptly known as the Nature Coast, Cabot Citrus Farms is set across 1,200 acres of pristine natural beauty. The landscape is marked by dramatic elevation changes, rolling hills, sandy soil, and a canopy of sand pines, palmetto trees, and century-old moss-covered oaks. The destination features 56 holes of golf, including two regulation-length courses, Karoo and Roost, a 9-hole course called The Squeeze, and an 11-hole par-3 course named The Wedge. In addition to golf, the property offers luxury accommodations, real estate opportunities, elevated dining, a full range of off-course adventures, and various outdoor trails, embodying a reimagined vision for Florida golf and active wellness.


Position Overview

Joining Cabot Citrus Farms as a Landscape Technician, you will operate both large and small equipment, such as tractors, mowers, loaders, and other maintenance machinery. You will also handle routine manual labor for golf course and property upkeep, as well as engage in semi-skilled grounds construction and maintenance tasks.


Key Responsibilities

  • Operate hand-mowing equipment such as line trimmers, push mowers, and self-propelled walk-behind units.
  • Operate tractors, loaders, aerifiers, utility vehicles and other maintenance equipment in a safe, non-destructive manner.
  • Care for established lawns by mulching, aerating, weeding, grubbing, removing thatch, or trimming or edging around flower beds, walks, or walls.
  • Prune or trim trees, shrubs, or hedges, using shears, pruners, or chain saws.
  • Mix and spray or spread fertilizers, herbicides, or insecticides onto grass, shrubs, or trees using hand or automatic sprayers or spreaders.
  • Provide proper upkeep of sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, planters, or other grounds features.
  • Debris and garbage collection.
  • Perform basic preventative maintenance on equipment as directed.
  • Maintain or repair tools, equipment, or structures, such as buildings, fences, or benches using hand or power tools.
  • Cleans and returns all equipment and tools to designated areas daily.


Qualifications

  • High school diploma.
  • Knowledge of the safe operation of hand held and motorized equipment.
  • Knowledge of the principals of operation of gasoline and diesel engines, maintenance tools and materials.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to follow oral and written directions.
  • Ability to work flexible hours – mornings, evenings, weekdays and weekends as required.
  • Positive attitude and excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly responsible & reliable.


Working Conditions

  • Work in various weather conditions, including sun, rain, wind, and cold. Appropriate clothing and gear are necessary.
  • Engage in physical tasks such as walking, bending, lifting, and operating landscaping equipment.
  • Navigate diverse terrains, including uneven ground, slopes, and potentially challenging landscapes.
  • Be aware of potential exposure to insects, allergens, and plants that may cause irritation or allergies.
  • Adhere to safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries while using tools and equipment.
  • Potential for long hours, including early mornings and late evenings, especially during peak seasons or for special projects.
