Job Description:

What You’ll Get to Do:

• Design mechanical enclosures, structures, and test fixtures for electronic components
• Identify components for use in packaged electronics design, based on customer requirements
• Design and generate detailed drawings of mechanical hardware and electrical cables
• Conduct thermal and structural analysis on conduction and convection cooled hardware
• Write and debug computer programs using codes such as Python and C
• Use CAD tools to analyze strength and thermal characteristics and create 3D prototypes
• Write detailed documentation for hardware assembly
• Document and present design work to engineering team
• Understand and adhere to all LGS Ethical and Compliance policies
• Proactively ensure a safe work environment and adhere to LGS EH&S policies and procedures

• Perform other duties as required
• Obtain/retain a government security clearance at the level to perform the job
• Knowledge pertaining to the packaging of electronics boards and assemblies for small-sized electronic devices.
• Knowledge in the use of mathematical computational tools, such as MATLAB and familiar with Python and C
• Experience in the use of computer-aided design software, with SolidWorks strongly preferred
• Familiar with the operation of rapid prototyping machines, machine shop tools and laser cutters
• Good hands-on skills in the assembly of complex electronics
• Knowledge of Microsoft software applications and other software applications as required

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

•  Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and 0-2 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education, skills, and experience
