The Cade Museum for Creativity & Invention (Cade Museum) a non-profit 501(c)3 located in Gainesville, Florida, is seeking to hire a creative, organized, and detail-oriented individual to support our team in the role of Event Assistant. This is a part-time position in a small startup, casual entrepreneurial environment. We are not able to offer health benefits.
The Event Assistant is responsible for assisting the Events Manager in implementing the facility rentals of all Cade Museum buildings.
The successful candidate will be self-motivated, reliable, and willing to jump in without hesitation when a need is observed. This is a position for a confident, dynamic, detail-oriented team player, with strong customer service, organizational and communication skills. This position requires weekend, evening, and some holiday hours.
General Responsibilities
- Create floor plans
- Setup, breakdown, and help maintain all Cade owned equipment and furniture
- Be present for duration of facility rental events
- Provide support for internal events as necessary
- Other duties as necessary or assigned
Qualifications and Skills
- High school degree or GED
- At least one year of event planning experience preferred
- Food and Beverage experience preferred
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds
- Ideal candidate will possess a “can do” attitude with a “will do” work ethic
- Must possess strong work ethic, professionalism, dependability and excellent customer support skills
Proficiency in the following applications:
- Microsoft Office: Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint
- Basic knowledge of Blackbaud, Altru is a plus
- Knowledge of Social Tables, or similar event layout platform
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: Up to $15.00 per hour
Schedule:
- Evening shift
- Weekends as needed
