What You Will Do

The Respiratory Therapy Director plays a central role in our facilities by utilize their skills and experience to make difference in patients’ lives every day. Responsibilities

• Assist with orienting and educating of new Respiratory Therapists on the respiratory department.
• Oversees the daily operations of the Respiratory Therapy Department to include staff interviews, employment decision, orientation, performance evaluations, employee training and development
• Responsible for advising and counseling patients/families
• Reviews, investigates and responds to patient complaints.
• Assists staff to utilize Respiratory care when coordinating the plan of patient care in assigned areas.
• Assesses patients, their needs and ability to tolerate treatment and make a reassessment based on their response to treatment
• Inspects and tests respiratory therapy equipment to ensure it functions safely and efficiently; operate equipment safely and correctly

Qualifications

• Must possess a current and active MD license to practice as a Respiratory Therapist
• Must have at least two (2) year of experience in a hospital, nursing care facility of other related health care facility
• At least 3 years of management experience is preferred
• Must be knowledgeable of respiratory practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulation and guidelines that pertain to respiratory in nursing care facilities
• BLS and ACLS certifications is required
