Duct Assembly Level 2
SUMMARY
Individuals’ primary responsibility is to prepare sheet metal products for the HVAC industry. Must have adequate knowledge in how to cut and join metals and other materials. Can assist in operating appropriate equipment to fabricate mechanical structures or parts with precision. Must be competent in using potentially dangerous equipment following all safety precautions. Each job must be performed with safety, quality and accuracy in a timely manner.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
  • Inspect parts for accuracy.
  • Prepare product to be fabricated by shearing, bending, rolling, punching, grinding, drilling, tapping, cutting, screwing.
  • Change out all consumables as needed.
  • Responsible for proper packing, identifying and moving of all unfinished and finished products to the proper location.
  • Ensure all equipment and product is properly set-up and used in a safe manner and that all safety devices are in use.
  • Preform first piece inspection as well as all subsequent inspection as required.
  • Perform simple maintenance and repair as required.
  • Required to have proper and accurate entry into the time and attendance system.
  • The ability to adhere to all safety and quality practices and principles.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Knowledge of the standard tools, equipment, materials, methods, and practices of the trades commensurate to assigned duties.

Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the HVAC Duct fabricating trades.

Knowledge of SMACNA Duct Construction Standards.

Ability to the work with supervisor, co-workers and helpers.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with personnel of other departments.

Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.

Ability to communicate clearly.

Skill in the use and care of tools and equipment used on work assignments.
