Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Warehouse Associate to join our dynamic logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for efficiently managing inventory, operating heavy equipment, and supporting warehouse distribution activities. This role requires a strong understanding of warehouse management systems, safety protocols, and materials handling processes to ensure smooth order fulfillment and shipping & receiving operations. Candidates with prior warehouse experience and mechanical knowledge are highly preferred to contribute to our fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage inventory control using warehouse management systems and RF scanners to ensure accurate stock levels.
- Operate heavy equipment such as reach trucks, forklifts, cranes, pallet jacks, and order pickers safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload shipments, ensuring proper handling of materials with heavy lifting techniques.
- Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipping while maintaining accuracy and quality standards.
- Support shipping & receiving processes by verifying incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Assist in stocking shelves, organizing inventory, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment in compliance with OSHA standards.
- Utilize mechanical knowledge for equipment troubleshooting and minor repairs when necessary.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to improve workflow efficiency and safety procedures.
- Operate warehouse distribution equipment to support manufacturing and construction material handling as needed.
Experience
- Prior experience in warehouse distribution, manufacturing, or construction environments is highly desirable.
- Experience operating heavy equipment including reach trucks, forklifts, cranes, pallet jacks, and order pickers is essential.
- Knowledge of inventory management, stock control, order fulfillment, shipping & receiving processes, and OSHA safety standards is required.
- Mechanical aptitude or prior experience with heavy equipment operation will be considered an asset.
- Warehouse supervisor experience or background in materials handling enhances candidacy but is not mandatory.
