UAS Dining Services
Work Schedule: This is an on-call position. This position will work a flexible schedule, which may include weekends, and/or evenings: non-exempt position. This position is not eligible for benefits.
Summary: UAS Dining Services provides hospitality service options for the California State University Los Angeles campus. The candidate for this position must be able to adhere to an extremely high set of customer service standards and be proficient in basic customer service functions. The incumbent reports to the Dining Service Operations Manager.
Essential Functions: Under the general supervision of the Dining Service Operations Manager, the Banquet Server will: be responsible for the early morning set up of multiple beverage and food stations located on the campus of the California State University of Los Angeles, stocks condiments and paper goods at the determined service stations; keeps the area clean and organized; and maintains the coffee station as necessary. They must be able to brew coffee, set up presentable service tables, and maintain them throughout the day. In addition, the applicant will help with other aspects of the catering production. Above all, in order to perform this job successfully, the incumbent must be dependable to show up and be ready to work, on time for their shifts.
Requirements: The successful candidate will have a minimum High school diploma or general education degree (GED); able to maintain a positive and cooperative attitude in dealing with staff, co-workers, customers, and the campus community; possess strong customer service skills; have the flexibility to a changing schedule dictated by client needs and possess the ability to lift up to 20 pounds. The incumbent must demonstrate an interest or ability in working in a multicultural/multiethnic environment. A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the UAS. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the application status of applicants or the continued employment of current UAS employees who apply for the position.
