We have an outstanding opportunity for a School Social Worker to work with HS students and young adults on transition and career related work including school and job placements. This job is under consideration to be full or part time.
Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Assess the needs of students.
- Work with high school students and young adults on transition and career related work including continued school and/or job placements.
- Determines and implements appropriate therapeutic strategies to effect changes in behavioral social interactions of students.
- Provides individual and group therapeutic counseling to students.
- Serves as a liaison between families and the school to positively promote collaborative processes in educational and/or career planning for students.
- Collaborates with school staff and other school system personnel in implementing strategies to promote student learning and transition.
- Provides staff consultation on behavioral-emotional-environmental issues affecting student participation in the learning/transition process.
- Conducts staff development on issues related to social-emotional-environmental factors that impact learning and transition.
- Maintains required clinical records and submits appropriate documents for reports.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of experience working with special needs students.
- Must have background in working with HS students and young adults on transition and career related work including school and job placements
- Must possess NJ School Social Worker Certification
- Must possess LCSW or LPC.
- Effective problem-solving, human relations and communication skills. Must be a team-oriented player.
- Criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status and a complete physical examination.
