We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Product Development to join our team at Caliber/Elastech Solutions, sister companies that design, manufacture, and distribute branded products to the power sports industry for Caliber and general industry OEMs for Elastech. As Director of Product Development, you will play a crucial role in leading our engineering team, driving product development initiatives from concept to market. This role requires a balance of creative solutioning, technical expertise, strategic vision, and hands-on leadership to deliver innovative solutions while optimizing our existing product offerings that are imperative for the company's growth and success.

Location: Burnsville, MN
Reports to: General Manager

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, manage, and develop a team of engineers, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation.
• Oversee all aspects of product development, including ideation, prototyping, testing, and production implementation while leveraging our phase gate development process.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including ownership, sales / marketing, and operations, to align engineering projects with business goals.
• Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency and product quality.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery of engineering initiatives.
• Act as a technical mentor and resource for the engineering team, providing guidance on complex projects and technical challenges.
• Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to inform product development strategies and maintain a competitive edge.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Design, or a related field
• 8 years of experience in engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Excellent project management and organizational skills.
• Proven track record of leading product development initiatives from concept to commercialization.
• Strong industry knowledge in the power sports and recreation industry is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and with external stakeholders.
• Passion for innovation and a hands-on approach to leadership.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $135,000.00 - $175,000.00 per year
