Department Information

DSH-Coalinga opened in 2005 and began treating forensically committed patients, mostly of which are sexually violent predators. It is a self-contained psychiatric hospital constructed with a security perimeter. California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) provides perimeter security as well as transportation of patients to outside medical services and court proceedings.

Job Description And Duties

Senior Radiological Technologist provides direction to the x-ray clinic and is responsible for directing the work of the radiological staff.

Instruct and prepare all forensic clients/patients for radiological examinations; determine the most suitable anatomical posture and positions and shield clients/patients appropriately; position and operate stationary or portable radiological machines and take x-rays for a variety of all body structures; process, develop, make copies and file x-ray films; prepare solutions for processing films; assist cases and identify photographs; maintain equipment and quarters. These procedures will be performed within the hospital's security compound.

This limited term position may be extended up to 24 months and has the possibility of becoming permanent.
