This position is located in the San Jose office.

Under the general direction of the Business Taxes Administrator I, the Tax Technician (TT) III will provide a variety of technical support tasks for the most difficult and complex technical duties. This includes but is not limited to registration, account maintenance, initial taxpayer contact on selected delinquencies, compiling & evaluating registration data, data cross referencing, and corresponding with taxpayers. The incumbent also reviews and examines data and generates basic reports for managers and compliance outreach representatives under the Statewide Compliance & Outreach Program (SCOP).

Under Government Code 14200, this position may be eligible for partial telework for eligible candidates residing in California. All telework/hybrid schedules require staff to report to the office a minimum number of days per week. Schedules are subject to change.

Currently, per the California Budget Act of 2025, all California Department of Tax and Fee Administration salaries are subject to the provisions of the State of California’s Personal Leave Program.
