This position includes answer 9-1-1, public and allied agency lines, as well as making out-going calls to service providers, allied agencies and civilians. PSDs must be able to operate voice radio and receive requests for emergency, routine and Freeway Service Patrol services from CHP field personnel and/or the public via the Service Desk and dispatching appropriate assistance.

The Orange County Communications Center dispatch employees receive an additional $750.00 recruitment and retention monthly pay differential. Part-time and intermittent employees shall receive a pro rata share of the monthly differential based on the total number of hours worked within the monthly pay period.
