What are the responsibilities and job description for the Data Entry & Receiving Technician position at California Seed & Plant Lab?
CSP Labs is looking for a professional, organized, detailed orientated sample logging technician to join our receiving department. This is a three-to-nine month temp-to-hire position.

Key Responsibilities
- Receipt and entry of samples into the LIMS with both efficiency and accuracy (ability to lift 30 lbs)
- Extrapolation of seed quantities based on weight (basic math skills); properly use an analytical scale
- Effective communication to ensure samples are processed in a timely manner
- Customer correspondence via email and phone
- Helping with shipping logistics incoming and outgoing
- Document control for international shipments
- Logging samples, scanning packing slips, and assigning appropriate tests to samples
- Helping with visitors as needed, handle phone calls and/or take messages as needed
- Keeping the receiving area neat and clean
Key Requirements
- Strong attention to detail for data entry and sample collection
- Strong organizational & communication skills
- Science background or interest preferred
- Strong written and verbal English
- Ability to use Microsoft Office and email
- Ability to learn new systems quickly
- Strong interpersonal skills - must be able to provide a friendly interface to company/office for customers, internal departments, etc.
