About the Role:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Nursing Supervisor to join our dedicated team. Reporting to the Director of Nursing, this position is pivotal in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our nursing department. The Nursing Supervisor will oversee and supervise the daily clinical and operational activities of our LPNs, Medical Assistants (MAs), and other nursing staff while fostering an environment of collaboration, excellence, and compassionate care.
This is a leadership role that involves direct staff supervision, quality assurance, and contributing to the development and implementation of nursing protocols and standards. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to advancing health equity for our diverse community.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Nursing Supervisor, your responsibilities will include:

Staff Supervision and Management: Oversee and directly supervise LPNs, RNs, and MAs assigned to their team. Provide mentorship, coaching, and performance feedback to staff.

Staff Onboarding and Training: Support the onboarding and training of new LPNs and MAs until they are assigned to specific teams.

Scheduling and Staffing: Assist in the creation and management of staff schedules to ensure appropriate coverage. Collaborate with the Director of Nursing to address staffing needs.

Quality Assurance: Perform regular Quality Assurance activities to maintain high standards of care within the nursing department.

Protocol and Policy Development: Assist the Director of Nursing in developing, implementing, and maintaining nursing protocols, policies, and standards of care.

Performance Monitoring: Conduct evaluations and monitor staff performance to ensure adherence to organizational standards and goals.

Clinical Support: Provide hands-on clinical support and guidance to the nursing team as needed. Address clinical and operational issues promptly to maintain workflow efficiency.

Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other departments to support patient-centered care and clinic operations.

Problem Solving and Conflict Resolution: Address and resolve any issues or conflicts that arise within the nursing team or between departments.

Leadership and Team Building: Foster a positive, inclusive, and collaborative work environment.
Work Schedule:
This full-time position requires three opening shifts (8am-5pm) and two evening shifts (12pm-9pm) per week, along with a rotating Saturday shift from 9am to 3pm once per month.

Qualifications
Education, Experience
- New York State Licensed Practical Nurse Licensure required.
- Two Years experience in an out-patient clinical setting preferred.
- At least one year of prior supervisory experience required.
- Current BCLS Certification required.
- Strong Computer competency including Microsoft Office Suite, (Word, Excel, and Outlook), required.
- Experience serving Callen-Lorde’s target LGBT populations preferred.
Desired Characteristics, Skills
- Experience in working within a multidisciplinary team preferred.
- Experience working with complex chronic disease management preferred.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.

Salary : $74,250 - $80,750
