Job Summary
This is a workforce development apprenticeship/traineeship position for an undergraduate majoring in engineering to work on mechatronics, integration of mechanical, electrical, and electronic engineering aspects in a physics research lab. The position will help the candidate get experience and skills in cross disciplinary research working across domains in physics and technology aspects.
Essential Job Duties
$17.00 - $20.50 Per Hour

Job Summary

The position will help the candidate get experience and skills in cross disciplinary research working across domains in physics and technology aspects.
Essential Job Duties
- Help with renovation of part of the lab and understand the various equipment used.
- Learn and use SolidWorks and other design tools for instrumentation design and simulation.
- Learn and assist the research engineer with PCB testing including software system testing tools.
- Take part in the BTL HL-LHC detector assembly (gluing and module testing)
- Collaborate with engineers, graduate, and undergraduate students to perform QAQC on all of the modules assembled.
- Collaborate with counterparts at the other BTL assembly centers in the US, Italy, and CERN
- Tech transfer with quantum engineering tasks at INQNET labs
- High school diploma.
- Good communication and team player skills.
- Sense of responsibility in handling research equipment and curious spirit.
- Hands on skills in lab.
- Field experience (e.g., a veteran with technical expertise in the field) or a prior internship in industry with hands-on engineering tasks is a great plus.
