Statement of Position:
The Project Manager, is an important position in the company, executing projects in association with the Designer and Site Foreman, assuring safe, efficient, productive and profitable site construction through the best use of human and material resources, sub-contractors, equipment and vehicles. He or she also acts as primary contact with the client throughout the construction process, always tending to prompt and thorough communication.
Reports To
- Construction Division Manager
Responsibilities:
- Execution of construction projects, including scheduling, securing of materials and sub-contractors, rental of machinery
- Provide Site Foreman with client and project information, and all relative contact information
- Direct Site Foreman, and aid with site layout, placement of key features and overall project organization
- Install and/or troubleshoot site and systems issues with Site Foreman
- Occasionally perform construction detail and specialty work when Project Manager’s expertise is required, training staff while doing so
- Monitor jobsite safety, produce jobsite safety plans. Inform Site Foreman, of missed, necessary installations and fixes
- Track budget and act to keep the project at or below estimated amount
- Complete change orders and customer approvals for additional work
- Monitor materials use from company inventory
- Create Hot Sheet punch lists
- Assure quality control
- Do final walkthrough with the customer and Landscape Architect
- Invoice projects in association with Bookkeeper
- Work with municipal officials, ensuring required inspections are performed and signed-off at project’s completion.
- Communicate clearly and promptly with clients, designers, Chief Operating Officer, Bookkeeper, sub-contractors, officials and construction crew
Qualifications:
- University Degree in Landscape Architecture, Construction Management preferred
- 5 years of experience in Landscape Design, Landscape Construction or combination thereof
- Must have valid Washington State Driver’s License with without significant violations
- Physical ability to perform duties and tolerate job related materials and severe weather conditions
- Must be organized, self-motivated and take responsibility for their actions
- Must have the ability to work independently or within a team structure that requires strong communication, willingness to put forth extra effort where and when needed
- Basic Spanish language skills desirable but not required
