What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Camp Nurse position at Camp Daisy & Harry Stein?
Camp Daisy & Harry Stein, a coed Residential/Overnight camp in the Prescott, Arizona, about two hours north of Phoenix, is looking for RNs, NPs, EMTs, CNA's, etc.. to work in our Camp Health Center this summer. Our team members are reliable and responsible medical professionals with a positive, fun outlook. Come be a part of the Camp Stein community this summer!
We are looking to fill a variety of dates between June 4 and July 28. Time periods are flexible, and bonuses are available for longer commitments.
Compensation includes semi-private accommodations (some rooms have shared bathrooms), WiFi, meals, laundry, and use of camp facilities during off hours. We encourage you to become fully immersed in camp and enoy the community experience. If you enjoy working with children, this will be a summer you will remember forever. Duties include:
- Medication dispensing and management
- Provide First aid and healthcare to campers and staff
- Medical record-keeping
- Communicating with parents, local doctors, hospitals, pharmacies
- Assisting other nurses during daily sick call
- Responding to emergencies 24/7
- Cover Health center (On-Call) on a rotating basis.
- Keeping Health Center organized and stocked
- Accompany injured or sick campers to the hospital.
Skills required:
- Licensed in Arizona or reciprocal state
- Must be able to multitask in a busy environment and adapt as needed.
- Willingness and comfort providing care to children
- Aware of food allergies/reaction/treatment
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Must enjoy working with children, understanding a warm smile can be as important as medicine
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with campers, staff, directors and parents
- Ability to take initiative
All medical team staff have at least 1 day off each week for those staying longer than 1 week.
