About the Role:
As the Program Assistant – Southeast Texas, you will play a key role in supporting youth programs such as Wayfinders (a K–8 nature-based day camp) and Tappin’ Roots (a paid internship for high school and college youth of color). Your contributions will help create joyful, affirming, and culturally grounded learning experiences that connect young people to nature, leadership, and career pathways.
What You’ll Do:
- Tappin’ Roots Internship: Support interns and partners, coordinate events, assist with training, capture media, and help with outreach and onboarding.
- Wayfinders Camp: Assist with curriculum, staff training, and family communication, support daily camp operations and post-camp evaluations.
- Studio Justice Program: Coordinate college tours and site visits, drive youth to events, and manage logistics.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Support curriculum development, data collection, and special projects.
What We’re Looking For:
Required:
- Age 25 or older with a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Reliable vehicle and ability to drive a 12-passenger van
- Experience working with BIPOC youth and families
- High school diploma or GED
- Willingness to work flexible hours and learn new tools
Preferred:
- Degree in STEAM or education
- One year or more in outdoor or community-based education
- Experience with K–8 youth
- Multilingual or multicultural background
