ASSISTANT SITE DIRECTOR


OVERVIEW

Camp Fire Alaska aims to help youth develop social, emotional, physical, and academic skills that will help them see and reach their full potential. We do that by facilitating hands-on, educational activities such as arts and crafts, sports, games, structured play and more, all in a safely organized before and after school program setting. Come join our team and work in our Before and After School Program in elementary schools in Anchorage and Eagle River. Programs run from 7-9am and again from 3:30-6pm, Monday through Friday. When school is not in session, we operate day camps and full or half day programs during the school year. 


DETAILS

  • Work Location: Assigned program sites (elementary schools) and on occasion from Camp Fire Alaska's main office 
  • Reports To: Site Director 
  • Supervises: Program Staff and Program Aides 
  • Work Status: Non-exempt, part time, average 25-28 hours/week 

 

POSITION SUMMARY

The Assistant Site Director provides support to the Site Director in planning, management and supervision of an assigned site. Essential duties and responsibilities of this position are supporting program quality with age-appropriate activities, coaching and supervision of site staff through ongoing training and new staff orientation, and completing administration duties to maintain licensing standards and regulations. 


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prior leadership experience required
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred
  • Minimum: 1 year experience working with youth (preferably school-age children) in a group and semi-structured setting required
  • Ability to transport all program materials and supplies to site required; ability to visit all sites as needed; valid driver’s license and access to personal car preferred
  •  Minimum age requirement of twenty-one (21) years of age OR professional experience directly related to licensed or accredited school age or camp programs to substitute


REQUIREMENTS (can be acquired after hire with agreed upon schedule): Adult/Child/Infant CPR, AED & First Aid; Food Worker Card; Mandated Reporter training certificate; Health & Safety certificate.
