Program Manager
Location: Bend, OR
Status: Full-time, salaried
Schedule: Full-time schedule based on an average of only 35 hours per week (fluctuates seasonally based upon the needs of the programs). Includes after school hours, and some school holidays (Bend-La Pine Schools). Other hours are flexible with the ability to do work from home.

Position Overview:
During the summer, the Program Manager will be responsible for general program and staff management, leadership, and implementation of our SummerKids program. The position entails office administration, project management, logistical support, and client services. During the school year, the Program Manager coordinates all aspects of our Teen Service and Leadership programs, often acting in a direct-service capacity, and supervises our Camp Fire Afterschool South County Coordinator as well as our Playworks Certification.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Direct SummerKids, a weekly theme-based summer day camp for 100 youth in Kindergarten through the 6th Grade. Responsible for hiring, training and development of summer direct-service staff and leadership team which can include a Teen Counselor, Behavior Coach and seasonal leadership hires.
- Run Teen Service and Leadership programs. This includes monthly teen connects service projects and creation of a pilot job-pipeline program where teens can become staff at NSDC and SK as well as formation of a Youth Advisory Council to the Bend City Council
- Supervise and support Camp Fire Afterschool Coordinator - South County. This includes helping to launch a new site in Three Rivers School and a few select No School Day programs. Work with coordinator on program logistics including: behavior management, parent calls, staff performance, getting ready for registration, tracking enrollment, schedules and budgets, responding to youth safety concerns and establishing clear policies and procedures across programs.
- Work with other Program Manager to coordinate hiring, training and development of other direct-service staff and program coordinators.
- Manage CFCO Playworks certification by maintaining yearly training and observation requirements for accreditation, Liasioning with schools and training staff in the Playworks method.
- Observe programs, provide feedback, and work with program leads to gather program quality data and implement improvement plans
Other Job Duties/Expectations:
- Become certified as a Trainer of Playworks and CampWell Mental Emotional Social Health trainings for seasonal staff
- Manage a safe physical and emotional space for youth through direct interactions with youth and parents and thoughtful behavior policies, including quickly responding to medical or behavioral incidents
- Be available to help with peer-to-peer conflict and emotional regulation of staff and campers
- Serve as added support/staff for Camp Fire events or programs which take place outside of normal work hours, such as staffing outreach events, supporting No School Day Camps, substituting at Afterschool as needed
- Perform general office and other various duties essential to operation of a small non-profit such as customer service and special projects based on individual skills

- Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree in related field (Ex: education, non-profit management); or 4 years experience managing, planning and executing youth programs or events; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Certificates, Licenses and Registrations: Valid Driver’s License, proof of COVID vaccine or medical exemption
- Physical Demands: Majority of work is performed in an office environment. During summers and program observations, employee will be walking, standing, running, bending, crouching or stooping. Employee will occasionally lift light and heavy objects. For some programs, employee must be able to spend the majority of time outdoors and tolerate a variety of weather conditions.
Compensation: Yearly salary starting at $45,000, with a final offer depending on experience
