What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Recreation Intern position at Camp Hill Borough?
This summer position is a paid internship that will offer opportunities to work directly with the Recreation Director in the administration oversight of summer programs, including the Siebert Park Day Camp. The intern will also assist in planning and execution of summer special events, including two weekend events (Kite Festival on May 17 and Memorial Day festivities on May 25). Salary range $15-18/hour. Flexible start and end dates between May 15 and August 14.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
Enroll participants in programs, camps and pool memberships using computerized registration system
Assist Recreation Director with administrative tasks, including daily activity planning, purchasing and transportation of equipment and supplies, and responding to public inquiries
Oversee Siebert Park Day Camp, including staff of 6-8 counselors and 50-60 children per week. Assist with other seasonal programs and camps
Assist with planning and execution of summer special events including Kite Festival, Memorial Day Festivities and Friday’s Box Lunch Review concert series
Interface with program participants, parents, and the general public
Other duties as assigned
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Clearances including
Ø PA Child Abuse clearance
Ø PA Criminal background
Ø FBI Criminal fingerprint criminal history
Ø Mandatory Reporter Training
PA Driver’s license
First aid and CPR training required and will be provided if needed.
Salary : $15 - $18
