CAMS is seeking a Maintenance Manager for the Bergen Generating Station. Bergen Generating Station is a gas-fired combined cycle power plant that supplies electricity to New Jersey and New York City. It is located on the banks of Overpeck Creek near its confluence with the Hackensack River in Ridgefield in Bergen County, New Jersey. The incumbent will have 9 direct employees. Under the general direction of the Plant Manager, the incumbent is responsible for all aspects of plant maintenance. The ideal candidate will be constantly assessing the systems in place to ensure that they are both safe and operating efficiently. This candidate will be comfortable managing a team and conducting analysis to highlight areas for improvement. This candidate should also be comfortable ensuring necessary utilities are working correctly and possess strong organizational skills to keep track of multiple projects at once.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the System Safety Process. Develop, maintain, and enforce safe working conditions by providing proper and adequate tools, equipment, protective clothing and devices.
- Establish and enforce safe work behaviors.
- Participate in the setting of safety goals for an accident-free work environment.
- Communicate to employees the importance of a safe work environment daily.
- Investigate report and track incidents/accidents including root cause analysis and corrective action taken.
- Report findings to management and then communicate findings to employees.
- Responsible for resolution of Human Resource issues.
- Communicate and administer company policy and procedures
- Manage the Maintenance team and associated functions to ensure compliance with all appropriate local, state, and federal environmental control regulations, Occupational Safety and Health Act and other applicable laws and regulations.
- Develop and present annual maintenance budgets
- Accountable for the development of long and short-range maintenance plans and capital improvements.
- Accountable for the development of facility maintenance O&M and capital forecasts, including tracking and controlling expenditures to maintain approved budgets.
- Approve maintenance expenditures and verify invoicing is accurate
- Ensure the asset management procurement process is followed accurately and timely
- Manage the maintenance planning process in relation to plant outages including developing workflow charts and critical paths, analyzing material needs and overseeing the writing of requisitions for materials and equipment
- Responsible for warehouse and inventory process
- Plans and coordinates plant maintenance and inventory requirements as required to maximize plant availability and optimize cost effectiveness
- Prepares accurate plant documentation, to assure proper historical records and reporting of plant maintenance is completed
- Formulates and executes projects assigned by the Plant Manager
- Promotes and works with others in a team environment
- Develops technicians through direction, leadership, and evaluation
- Communicates verbally and in writing to customers, suppliers, and technicians to ensure optimum resource utilization
- Maintain working relationships with customers, suppliers, and community
- Administers daily and weekly work plans, housekeeping assignments, and maintenance routines
- Assists with operations/maintenance training and qualification programs
- Must make expeditious appropriate decision to non-routine plant maintenance situations
- Participate in projects and assignments as directed by the Plant Manager
- Maintains and optimizes the plant CMMS system, issues preventative/predictive and corrective work orders for completion
- Provides emergency 24-hour on-call emergency support and ensures emergency support is provided for plant needs
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Competent oral and written communication skills are required
- Other skills required include knowledge of computer systems and software, and the ability to read and understand technical manuals and drawings
- Knowledge of and extensive experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) such as Maximo is required
- Experienced with use of Microsoft Office tools, with emphasis on Excel and MS Project
- A thorough understanding of power generation technology and maintenance requirements
- Demonstrates full knowledge and proficiency in the maintenance of power generating equipment including combustion turbine technology, steam turbines, and associated auxiliary and support (Balance of Plant) equipment
- Knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform and/or plan complex maintenance assignments in mechanical, electrical, and controls disciplines
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Requires standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, twisting, climbing stairs and ladders, entering plant equipment to access, inspect, or collect data on plant equipment and lifting up to 50 pounds
- Requires wearing personal protective safety equipment (respirators, safety glasses, hard hat, appropriate footwear, ear plugs, etc.)
- May be required to work around rotating and energized equipment, hazardous materials, and chemicals
- Incumbent must adhere to established policies and procedures
- Driving on company business is a requirement of this position and as such, the incumbent shall have and maintain a valid driver’s license
Salary : $140,000 - $170,000
