Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Department: Commissioners
Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Provides skilled labor to assist in the repair and maintenance of County buildings and their exterior grounds directly under the purview of the Commissioners’ Office. This includes but is not limited to:
o the operation of commercial heating and air conditioning systems (HVAC, hot water and chiller),
o plumbing,
o electrical (3 phase and emergency generation),
o telephone systems
o all structural elements associated with the proper maintenance of County buildings.
o care and upkeep of grounds and exteriors associated with County buildings.
- Assists in the opening and closing of buildings each business day and the monitoring of building conditions so as to ascertain their integrity and any maintenance issues that arise.
- Assists in the set up and tear down of all meeting rooms and gathering spaces in the County complex as requested by County Officers and Department Heads or their designee. Provides assistance to the same in the moving of furniture, equipment or other items for which aid is needed.
- In inclement weather assists with snow and ice removal and mitigation before buildings are open for business.
- Maintain a proper and professional relationship with all county personnel.
- The employee must be on call nights, weekends, and holidays. These constitute times not considered “routine” scheduled hours. Fair compensation for overtime will be given as per the County Employee Personnel Policy Handbook.
- Respond to and deliver Janitorial needs as requested.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: a minimum of two (2) years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Some vocational/technical training or certification is desirable.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret instructional manuals, brochures and literature in addition to safety rules and policy manuals. Must be fluent enough in English to follow verbal instructions and maintain the safety of the work environment.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals as might be applied in the calculation of weights and measures..
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES: Must possess an Oklahoma Class D driver’s license and possess a safe driving record. CDL license is desirable but not required.
