Position Overview
The Communications Coordinator is responsible for providing administrative and editorial support to the communications team. Responsibilities will include assisting with traditional media, social media, writing, design, and email marketing.
Responsibilities
- Assist with media relations by disseminating organizational information (including press releases, email campaigns, and reports on social media)
- Create content for CancerCares social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, and YouTube and respond to messages and comments
- Coordinate daily social media posts and social media ad campaigns
- Create goals and metrics for increasing social media followers and engagement, monitor and analyze outcomes and assist in making recommendations for CancerCares external communication strategies
- Develop content for CancerCares blog
- Assist with developing and maintaining publications and client stories
- Update CancerCare listings in local and national resource directories
- Perform updates to CancerCares website
- Assist with graphic design projects
- Draft and distribute targeted marketing emails and monthly newsletters
- Provide general administrative support to the communications team
- Additional tasks as needed
Qualifications
Requirements, Education, and Skills
- Bachelors degree required with some relevant work or internship experience
- Superb written and verbal communication skill required
- Self-started, highly organized, detailed and team-oriented
- Must be able to multi-task while meeting deadlines
- Strong computer skills and social media savvy
- Working knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop, and Adobe Acrobat is preferred but not required
- Experience with video editing, Instagram reels, Facebook Ads, and Constant Contact is preferred but not required
