What are the responsibilities and job description for the Financial Analyst position at CANPACK US LLC?
The Financial Analyst will provide efficient handling of the general accounting activities. The Financial Analyst is responsible for using their analytical mindset to analyze and interpret financial data, then relating it to potential business trends and issues. This position will use insights they have discovered to communicate important themes and discoveries to company leadership and ensure compliance with internal control procedures and GAAP. Essential Functions/Key Deliverables Perform general accounting activities, including the preparation, maintenance and reconciliation of ledger accounts and financial statements such as balance sheets, profit-and-loss statements and capital expenditure schedules. Prepare, record, analyze, and report accounting transactions (journal entries) and ensure the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy and compliance with accepted accounting policies and principles. Prepare Sales and Use tax returns and participate in corresponding audits. Assist in preparation of budgets and forecasts. Work with internal and external auditors. Consistently analyze financial information based on both routine and ad-hoc reports. Interpret financial data to recognize changing trends, patterns, and their meaning related to key performance indicators. Communicate financial insights suggesting business issues to management. Perform other tasks reasonably commensurate with the role. Knowledge/Skills/Experience Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with 5 to 10 years of experience. Must be proficient in the Microsoft Office suite. Advanced knowledge of Excel Knowledge of and experience with SAP would be a significant plus. Strong critical-thinking skills with a solution-oriented mindset. Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy and organization. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to function both independently and as part of a team; must be flexible and excited to grow with the organization.
