Job Responsibilities:
- Plan and organize daily, weekly, and monthly activity schedules.
- Facilitate group and individual activities such as games, crafts, and exercise sessions.
- Encourage participant involvement and engagement in all activities.
- Monitor and record participant progress and feedback.
- Coordinate special events and outings for participants.
- Maintain a safe and welcoming environment for all participants.
- Assist in the setup and cleanup of activity areas.
- Communicate with healthcare professionals and family members regarding participant needs and progress.
- Adapt activities to meet the specific needs and preferences of participants.
- Create promotional materials to advertise upcoming activities and events.
- Ensure all activities comply with relevant health and safety regulations.
- Provide emotional support and encouragement to participants.
Activities Aide Qualifications & Skills:
- Previous experience in a similar role or in a healthcare setting.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Creativity in designing engaging and meaningful activities.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Sensitivity to the needs of elderly or disabled individuals.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Physical ability to assist participants and move activity equipment.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Strong observation and assessment skills.
- Capability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Empathy and patience in working with diverse populations.
