Position Purpose
The Mortgage Loan Processor works closely with loan originators to process mortgage loans in order to provide a best-in-class customer experience. The Processor receives the application online in and must have the ability to quickly review for accuracy and completeness, advise the LO as to viability of loan at first glance and then must acquire necessary documents to submit to underwriting for final approval.
Position Responsibilities
- Calculates principal, interest and closing cost amounts and notifies the borrower accordingly.
- Prepares mortgage loan files by reviewing loan applications and clarifying and/or obtaining additional information.
- Confirms mortgage loan application information by corresponding with verification sources.
- Obtains mortgage loan documentation by ordering credit reports, land surveys, building appraisals, titles and related information
- Identifies mortgage loan application and documentation problems by highlighting deficiencies and notifying the mortgage loan underwriter and/or mortgage loan supervisor accordingly.
- Calculates principal, interest and closing cost amounts and notifies the borrower accordingly.
- Processors should be able to disclose new loans, issue COC’s and complete the set up function of their loans
Minimum Education & Experience
- Recent experience in the mortgage industry as an assistant, loan processor or loan officer is required.
- Must have knowledge of lending terminology and the ability/experience speaking with borrowers regarding lending requirements.
- Experience processing conventional, FHA and VA loans.
- Proven customer service ability is required.
Technical Knowledge and Skills
- Microsoft office software suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc)
- Encompass
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
Other
Ability to travel within a defined market area.
