Drill Operator

Capital Rock Drilling and Blasting is a locally owned and operated Drilling and Blasting company. We specialize in Quarry and Construction projects. We are currently seeking for a reliable and motivated Driller to join our growing team! If you have experience with Epiroc (Atlas Copco) drills, T40 remotes, and cab machines, we want to hear from you! Experience is highly preferred (minimum of 2 years), but we are also willing to train the right candidate. We run new and updated equipment, Epiroc and Sandvik tooling.

Responsibilities

• Operate drilling equipment: Use drilling rigs to bore holes in rock at construction sites, quarries, or open-pit mines
• Perform maintenance: Carry out daily maintenance to keep equipment running safely and efficiently
• Record operations: Log details of operations, including performance and hole sheets
• Ensure safety: Follow safety policies and procedures, and communicate problems to the foreman
• Train crews: Teach drill crews about safety measures and procedures
• Learn drill patterns: Learn and execute drill patterns and layouts as instructed by the foreman
• Coordinate supplies: Work with the blaster to coordinate supplies and carry tools
• Participate in meetings: Attend meetings as needed, including foreman's meetings, safety meetings, and job-specific meetings

Additional Qualifications are a plus:

• Safety-minded and able to work in different weather conditions
• Physical agility and ability to lift heavy objects
• Mechanical aptitude and experience with equipment, motors, and hydraulic systems
• Ability to learn drill patterns and terminology
• Ability to work unsupervised and maintain a sense of urgency
• Ability to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen
• Valid Driver's License

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.80 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
