Job Title: Maintenance Assistant (Student Position)

Summary
The primary responsibility of this student position is to support the Rountree Commons Staff in maintaining and enhancing the residential community. Duties include but are not limited to cleaning/disinfecting common area spaces such as floor lounges, kitchens, and first floor, vacuuming, moving trash & recycling to the main trash room on first floor from floor trash rooms, and possibly assisting with painting and repairs.
Key Responsbilities:
- Assist with general building cleaning, disinfecting and related services.
- Service garbage and recycling areas, including but not limited to: proper removal and transport of materials to the disposal areas.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Current student at University of Wisconsin-Platteville
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and navigate up and down stairs.
- Demonstrate proficiency in verbal communication.
- Possess strong customer service skills.
- Must have troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
Work Hours
This student position is anticipated to work 10-18 hours a week.The work schedule will consist of 4 hours working on Saturday and Sunday (there is the possibility to flex your time if you will be away for the weekend) and the remaining hours will be scheduled around classes and student involvement obligations Monday through Friday between 8:00am- 5:00pm.

Compensation
Facilities Assistants that live at Rountree Commons will be is paid as an employee discount that is applied to your housing fee through your Rountree Commons Resident Portal account at $9.97 per hour. If you are interested in being a Facilities Assistants but do not live in Rountree Commons, you will be compensated at the rate of $9.97 per hour. While some break periods are given as paid, there is also the opportunity to work for additional hours over break period, including summer. Position not eligible for benefits.
