Responsibilities
CAPTRUST is seeking an Investment Research Associate who will work closely with a senior member of the due diligence team to analyze private market investments, monitor and maintain a list of current investments, and communicate updates to the firm through written communication. Primary responsibilities may include the following, among others:
- Compile and analyze investment data
- Assist in the preparation for meetings with investment management teams and produce a written report following each meeting
- Gain insights into the private market universe through meetings with investment managers
- Compile quarterly updates from each investment firm and maintain an internal database
- Assist with searches for new investments through both quantitative and qualitative analysis
- Assist with ad-hoc requests from the firm’s financial advisors as well as other members of the research team
- May perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics or business or equivalent combination of training and experience required
- Strong written and oral communication skill
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to provide insightful commentary on investment managers
- Knowledge of and interest in the capital markets, and private markets in particular
- Well organized and able to handle multiple projects at the same time
- Attention to detail, particularly in written communication
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
