Requirements
What You'll Be Doing:
Under the general direction and supervision of the Youth Programs Coordinator, Kid Zone Representatives will be supervising children ranging from 6 months to 9 years of age in our drop-in childcare area within the recreation center.
Our ideal candidate will:

- Provide excellent customer service in a timely manner to internal and external customers, and patrons.
- Take full responsibility for all cleaning, sanitation, and safety procedures
- Maintain a detailed communication log for all incidents
- Follow Carbon Valley Parks and Recreation District Kidzone Behavioral policy and procedures for behavioral guidance.
- Maintain a positive, fun, engaging atmosphere for all children attending KidZone
- Maintain a 1:6 ratio at all times
- Must be proficient at communicating internally and externally via email, phone, and in-person to supervisors, co-workers, participants, parents, volunteers, and other community members.
- Attend staff meetings and departmental training
- Perform basic janitorial functions in facilities including but not limited to mopping floors, taking out the trash, cleaning up spills, washing windows, and cleaning children’s toys, books, games, etc.
- Enforces safety rules and policies for all children in attendance
Required Qualifications:
Candidates over 18 must pass a background check prior to employment.
- Must be available to work all shifts including days, nights, weekends, and some holidays based on the needs of the District.
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- Must have the ability to interact with and care for children ages 6 months to 9 years of age and apply age-appropriate guidance
- CPR, AED, first aid certification, or the ability to become certified within the first 90 days of employment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Six to twelve months of childcare experience
- Babysitter Bootcamp Certification (Red-Cross)

Physical Demands, Job Location, and Equipment:
- This position requires a high level of physical ability including standing for long periods, bending, reaching, lifting, jumping, walking, stretching, picking up and carrying children, bending, stooping, walking, reaching, use of fine and large motor skills, and a high level of attention for multiple children and tasks. etc.
- Ability to lift, carry and exert up to 20 lbs.
